Warming Up a Bit!

After several days of VERY cold weather, we should be seeing warmer temperatures as we head into our work week. This arctic air mass that brought us near-record low temps will be moving out of the area and that should allow for more zonal flow to boost temps. Expect highs on Monday and Tuesday to get into the low to mid 60's before cooling back off on Thursday.

P.S. Thanks to everyone to brought gifts for the ToyThon! It was a blast.

Getting Very Cold...Again

* For the second time this week, we are staring down temperatures in the teens tonight. Most places will likely fall into the upper teens tonight. The caveat is wind: if we stay windy, that will keep the coldest air from settling down to the Earth's surface. If the wind goes calm, teens are likely.

* The coldest night will be tomorrow night. Readings Friday night will likely fall into the middle teens. Be sure to bring in those plants and pets...Also, check on the elderly, especially those who live alone.

Burr! Cold is Coming!

A very cold and dry airmass is heading our way! High pressure off to our west will begin to shift eastward throughout the day tomorrow and northerly winds will absolutely usher in colder temperatures. Afternoon highs tomorrow will really struggle to get out of the mid-upper 40's.

There is already a Freeze Watch in effect for Wayne and Choctaw counties for tomorrow night as overnight lows will bottom out in the lower 20's. With the tightening pressure gradient, expect winds to pick up as well throughout the evening. We could be looking at wind chills in the lower teens in some places. It will be very important to bundle up for the Tuesday morning commute to work or bundle the little ones up as they wait for the bus!

Have a good night! See everyone Friday!
