Labor Day Thoughts...

* What a fantastic weekend - plenty of college football and pleasant weather. Some are even fortunate enough to enjoy a three-day weekend. The weather hasn't been too bad at all - warm and dry, with plenty of sunshine.

* Temperatures today were a few degrees warmer than expected. Meridian's Key Field reached 92 earlier this afternoon, which is actually one degree above the average high for today.

* We are watching the tropics closely. Tropical Depression Six has formed in the Atlantic, and is moving towards the west. This will likely become a tropical storm in the next 24 hours, and could become a hurricane not long after that. For us, the news is pretty good - this will not be an issue in the Gulf of Mexico. But, the system (which will be called Florence if/when it gets a name) could impact the East Coast.

* 59 - that's our forecast high for Friday morning. That would be our first morning in the 50's since June 6, when we hit 55 degrees in Meridian. I sure get the idea that the worst of summer's heat is behind us.

* FALL FOLIAGE: We are building an online portfolio of YOUR fall foliage images. While the trees haven't really gotten started changing yet, we want to take the chance to remind you to send us any foliage pics (or any other interesting weather pics) to:
