Severe Thunderstorm Warning -- Smith and Jasper
* Southern Smith and Jasper Counties are under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 1:30 pm. This is a line of thunderstorms that extends from roughly Raleigh back towards Mize.The line is racing northeast at 55 mph, and will affect Stringer, Bay Springs, Sylvarena, Heidelberg, Paulding and eventually Rose Hill.
The main threats are gusty winds and large hail, perhaps as large as a nickel. Also some frequent lightning in these storms..
If you live in southern Smith County or Jasper County, stay indoors until these thunderstorms pass. Stay off of wired telephones and stay away from windows...
