THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN JACKSON
HAS ISSUED A

* SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR...
NORTHERN JASPER COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL
MISSISSIPPI

* UNTIL 330 PM CST

* AT 243 PM CST...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE
DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING
PING PONG BALL SIZE-HAIL.
THIS STORM WAS LOCATED 9 MILES NORTH OF
BAY SPRINGS...OR ABOUT 17
MILES SOUTHWEST OF NEWTON...AND MOVING
EAST AT 40 MPH.

* THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WILL BE NEAR...
7 MILES NORTH OF PAULDING BY 305 PM CST
ROSE HILL BY 310 PM CST

Yep. Dewpoints south of the warm front reached as high as 63 degrees at Pine Belt Regional Airport. That, combined with very cold air aloft, created instability and hail.

I didn't know that jasper county had temps in the 60's. Are you sure about that?

There are no ASOS reporting stations in Jasper County...However Meridian did reach a high of 61 and Hattiesburg/Laurel hit 73. The observations had a dewpoint in Laurel getting to 63.
