THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN JACKSON HAS ISSUED A

* SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR...
SOUTHEASTERN SCOTT COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI
NORTHEASTERN SMITH COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI
NORTHERN JASPER COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI
SOUTHERN NEWTON COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI
THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF NEWTON

* UNTIL 530 PM CST

* AT 443 PM CST...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING HALF DOLLAR SIZE HAIL...AND DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH. THIS STORM WAS LOCATED 21 MILES SOUTHWEST OF NEWTON...OR ABOUT 12 MILES SOUTH OF FOREST...AND MOVING EAST AT 40 MPH.

* THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WILL BE NEAR...
NEWTON BY 510 PM CST
