Boone County, Nebraska-54 degree dewpoints, 59 degree temps, SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING.
Boone County, Nebraska - over 1000 miles from here.
Not in Mississippi.
Not in Alabama.
Different part of the world, different severe weather forecasting. No one ever said you can't have severe weather with dewpoints below 60. It's just a benchmark value that we like to use for surface based severe convection and the potential to produce tornadoes. It works well HERE.
