Sunday Night Thoughts
Well this weekend featured rain and cooler temperatures as we wrapped up a rather wet month that included all of the rain from Dennis and afternoon thunderstorms. This week appears to be wet as well as a pesky weak upper level low combined with outflow boundaries from previous thunderstorms will set the stage for showers and thunderstorms Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. As a result from the clouds and storms, our temperatures will stay slightly below normal- topping out in the upper 80s the first part of the week.We continue to stress that safety needs to be taken on wet roads. We've had a lot of wrecks as of lately due to hydroplaning. Hydroplaning occurs when ponding from heavy rains reduces friction between tires and pavement, therefore creating a slick surface when traveling at higher speeds. An extra five minutes on the roads can be a life saver!
